UCSB VETERANS RESOURCE TEAM

What We Do

Developed and headed by Dr. Kirsten Olson, a clinical psychologist trained in PTSD and brain trauma and directed by Jon Parra, a combat Iraq veteran, this program assists Iraq/Afghanistan veterans in adjusting to college and learning how to maximize government assistance that is due them. This includes support, mentorships, special programs, a resource center, education counseling, and training for veterans attending UCSB.

UC SANTA BARBARA ROTC

What We Do

As one of the nationally top ranked college ROTC programs in the nation, it receives scholarships and other monetary support throughout the four year program as the cadets train to enter the US Army as commissioned officers.

VETERANS TREATMENT COURT

What We Do

The Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) gives Combat Veterans the choice to go into a diversion program after committing nonviolent crimes instead of prison.  Their records are expunged after completing the various programs designed to help them become productive citizens.

HOSPICE VETERANS PINNING PROGRAM

What We Do

Hospice Veterans Pinning Program, in conjunction with Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care, provides veterans in hospice with a special pin and certificate of appreciation from a young active duty military man or woman in uniform with family, friends, and hospice staff in attendance.

STUDENT ASSISTANCE
