The Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation Supports Those in Active Duty

By Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation

Not only does PCVF support and honor veterans, but also those in Active Duty. PCVF does this primarily through financial and in-kind assistance of the Family Readiness Units at Point Mugu, Port Hueneme, and Vandenberg Air Force Base as well as providing scholarships to attend the Annual Military Ball.

PCVF connects with local Family Readiness Units to help support the needs of families of Active Duty members. This is often through financial support of those who may be in crisis or need emergency funds. Support also includes in-kind donations of items such as gently used toys, baby items or furniture for families in need. These in-kind items are donated by people like you in the community. Additionally, PCVF supports the Family Readiness Unit send offs and celebrations for Active Duty members who are deploying or coming back from deployment.

Moreover, PCVF provides scholarships for Active Duty members and their significant other to attend the annual Military Ball held on Veterans Weekend. The cost of attending is often limiting for many local Active Duty members, the scholarships enable them to be a part of honoring veterans and connecting fellow serviceman. In 2015, about half of the 700 attendees received a scholarship.
